Responsibilities:

Overall responsibilities include being able to derive system specifications of analog front-ends in SiGe BiCMOS for SONET/SDH systems, design transistor schematics, simulation, and layout of analog sub-systems such as variable gain amplifier, filters, PLLs and ADCs in the multi-GHz regime.

Interface with system designers, foundries, and test houses in determining specifications of the product including design of testability features, participation in bench testing, followed by introduction to manufacture.

Reauired Skills and Background:

Should have lead/participated in multiple tape-outs, testing and introduction to manufacture of design consisting of ADC/DAC, programmable gain blocks, filters, PLL, and clock and data recovery (CDR) circuits in the multi-GHz regime. Design experience in CMOS/BiCMOS RF or read-channel integrated circuit design would be considered relevant. Knowledge of communications protocols like SONET/SDH, Gigabit Ethernet etc. is a plus.

Education: MSEE required.

Responsibilities:

• Designing very high-speed, mixed-signal CMOS and SiGe BICMOS analog and custom integrated circuit for high bit-rate systems that are SONET/SDH based or similar.
• The job includes one or more of detailed transistor level schematic design, physical layout, bench testing, followed by introduction to manufacture.

Desired Skills:

• Hands on experience in mixed-signal analog design techniques.
• Analog designers need hands on experience designing high-speed data converters, programmable gain blocks, Phase locked loops and Clock and Data Recovery Circuits.
• Digital designers need to have experience with high-speed digital circuit and layout techniques and fast arithmetic unit architectures.
• Knowledge of communications protocols like SONET/SDH, Gigabit Ethernet etc is a plus.

Education: MSEE required.

• Responsible for end-to-end system modeling, analysis and algorithm design for next-generation optical communication systems. Skills include modeling and analysis of optical links, including signal modulation, optical channel impairments, and the receiver chain.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of adaptive digital and analog signal processing, modulation, and equalization required.
• Modeling/simulation ability Matlab/C/VPI or equivalent software tools are a must.
• Exposure/working knowledge of optical communication systems a strong plus.
• Knowledge of communications protocols like SONET/SDH, Gigabit Ethernet etc is a plus.
